Kerala dreams supper club

8 oct 1900-2100

Our plant-based (great for you, great for the planet!) supper clubs at Crane continue with Kerala Dreams, an ensemble of fresh, nourishing and absolutely delicious Ayurvedic-inspired dishes from the Sizzling South of the Indian subcontinent.

Be transported to the backwaters of Kerala for an evening and indulge in a specially curated Kerala-inspired Ayurvedic meal. It is 100% vegan, full of vitality and will wow you with the use of native vegetables and wild plants from the region. Put together by Medicine Woman Asia Ajuntha Anwari, the food will be served on a banana leaf and you will be encouraged to eat with your hands to make it tastier! The menu is as follows:

To Start:

Coconut buttermilk: An ayurvedic digestive drink made from coconut yoghurt blended with turmeric leaf and powder, curry leaf, ginger, lime, green chili and sea salt

Kerala welcome: A taste of the backwaters with a bite of pumpkin stewed in coconut water and a sprinkling of spice-mix cashew, sesame, mango powder and curry leaf

Mains on Banana Leaf:

Spiced rice: Steamed basmati rice spiced with black sesame, fenugreek, mustard seeds, turmeric, cumin and cinnamon

Moringa leaves sothi: Superfood moringa leaves cooked in coconut milk with ginger and spices

Sambar Kerala: Lentil and vegetable curry flavoured with tomato, curry leaf and tamarind

Sprout salad with snake gourd: Health salad made with fresh green and black gram sprouts, with blanched snake gourd. Dressing of roasted spiced coconut, chili, lime and honey

Curry leaf and mint chutney: Urad dahl, tamarind and dried chili combined with mint leaves for a piquant chutney

Sweet endings: Jaggery and Masala Chai
