On today’s episode I am joined by Jorge Luis Delgrado. Born in the highlands near Lake Titicaca, Peru, Jorge is of Aymara Incan heritage. His mother is from a family of herders and his father was a teacher.He was trained by the Kallawayas shamans of the northeast Lake Titicaca region, in the lineage of the Amautas, (the Wise Ones of the Andes). He also trained with the Q'ero Elders of the Cusco region who are considered the last remaining descendants of the Incas. Jorge is known around the world as a knowledgeable guide of the Sacred Valley and the High Plateau of the Andes. Notwithstanding her early work as a journalist, after an intense period of crises, tragedies and shocks, Louise discovered meditation and threw herself into discovering all she could about it. This led her to eventually learning and teaching meditation and training people to become teachers for 40 years. Shamanism ‘grabbed’ her in a similar way and she has explored, practiced and taught this fascinating modality for 20 years. Louise also offers one to one shamanic healing sessions. Louise also happens to be my teacher, mentor and dear friend and I am so thrilled that she is joining me for a chat in this season. Join us as we explore the nature of ‘modern shamanism’, trance and the wisdom that is available to us within altered states; the spiritual familiarity of shamanism; the active space of dreaming; the importance of meditation to enter silence and what can be found within the silence. Your career defines your identity, value and self-worth. But it does not define you as a person. Your purpose defines you as a person. It is perfectly possible and normal to be happy and fulfilled having a non-linear career. The important thing is to understand what you enjoy doing, what you are good at doing, and finding that alignment to the job and career that fits in with your purpose. Listen as Alex Loh and Tony Leong share their respective non-linear careers and how they discovered their purpose and areas of enjoyment to be in the careers they have had a chance to contribute to.
